Jonathan was born in Oakland and raised in Fresno (Roosevelt Class of 84). He graduated with a B.A. from UC Berkeley back in the late 80s and received his M.A. in fine art photography from Fresno State. His interests include music, reading (mostly nonfiction), basketball (a lifetime Warriors fan), graphic design, and, of course, photography! He’s been a photographer since his early 20s and has an interest in portraiture, street photography, and photographic history. Currently, Jonathan teaches full-time at Fresno City College in the Graphic Communications and photo departments. He is the dad of two college kids and runs a household of several pets. Jonathan believes that each of us, regardless of background or circumstances, has an inner artist and he loves working with his students to help bring that out!
